ANT-25 (RD)

ANT-25 (RD) - long-range record aircraft.

Two airplanes were built in total. First flight was performed on June 22, 1933. For several years the planes were being developed and advanced. Several extra-long-distance flights within the borders of the USSR were performed on the aircraft. In 1937, crews of V.P. Chkalov and M.M. Gromov performed ultra-long non-stop flights to the USA over the North Pole. The aircraft was put into serial production in the form of DB-1 (ANT-36) long-range bomber. The aircraft became the basis for BOK-1, BOK-7, BOK-11 and BOK-15 prototype high-altitude airplanes.
